Residential Demolition – Strathfield, NSW 2137
The majority of sites featured on The Home Demolitions projects page contain photos during demolition to try and give a little insight into the demolition process, generally we also try to state the reason for demolition, a little history about the property and some interest odds and ends information about the suburb.
Rather than featuring the demolition process, this previously renovated Strathfield property stands out as one of the most stereotypical projects to date. Representing all the features of a time now gone past, this two bedroom one bathroom (with external laundry) brick home was situated on a decent sized block in the increasingly popular inner west suburb. The poorly utilised land space combined with an ageing dwelling made this house a perfect candidate for a complete knock down rebuild. With no major headaches, the entire process was very straight forward with the trickiest components being the one large tree and another sneaky shrub growing from a void practically beneath the colour bond fence separating this block and its neighbour. Although many would consider it a crime to demolish such a piece of sixties Australiana with its original Hills-hoist and backyard tin shed, the fact is, Sydney is a growing city and as such requires developments in housing, infrastructure and business to support growing new Australian families. This block will be making way for a new 4 bedroom 2.5 bathroom home, constructed to modern building codes of safety and featuring all the conveniences of modern life, which will hopefully be enjoyed for many generations to come.
